"A hospitable welcome in a beautiful setting."
Situated in the holiday region Kühtai-Sellraintal, Alderhorst is the perfect address for a winter vacation, in all its facets.
Kühtai, located at 2020 meters altitude, is the highest ski resort in Austria, and therefore you are certain of snow. The area is suitable for novice skiers, but also for advanced skiers. There are enough free parking spaces close to the lifts and for people who want to use the free ski-bus, 2 different bus stops are easy to reach from our house. The ski permit is valid in Kühtai and in Hoch-Ötz. There are 80 kilometres of ski runs all in all. There is a shuttle bus between these areas. Waiting times at the lift.... it's an exception here.
Kühtai has a 140 meter long and 7 meter high super pipe for snow boarders, which is a real challenge. The Snow park is a place where real free-stylers can indulge themselves. For beginners and children there is a Kids park, to get to know the basic principles. For ski, snowboard lessons and rental of skis, cross-country skiing equipment, snowboards, toboggans or snowshoes you can turn to Sport-Seppl / Follow me in Gries or in Kühtai.
Sledding, a pleasant walk up and then full speed down. In Kühtai-Sellraintal you can choose from 7 different toboggan lanes with various levels of difficulty. Night sledding at Gleirsch-Alm is definitely recommended.
Kühtai Sellraintal is a real Eldorado for the tour skier. In Praxmar you can find the first educational Ski Mountaineering Learning Path of Austria for the beginning tour skier. For the more advanced tour skier it could be difficult to choose from the various routes.
For people who prefer something a little more relaxed, winter hiking is the ideal option to enjoy the surrounding area.
Experiencing the blissful nature, off the beaten track, or guided by a tour guide. This is snowshoe hiking. Enjoy from the first to the last minute. With a valid guest permit you can join the guide for free, once a week!
For classic or skating there are several trails, of which the one in Gries is illuminated every night. The tracks in Praxmar / Lusens are highly recommended!
During a nice walk you are sometimes eye to eye with a deer!
Innsbruck is a fairytale city in the Christmas period, with its lights and cosy Christmas markets. With a valid guest permit you can travel here with the bus, for free. If there is enough interest, we will go night sledding with our guests, or do a fun torchlight hike.
In short: Enjoy the winter in all its facets, with us in Adlerhorst.
"Fairly tranquilly located beside a stream, very friendly people.
